OUR STORY

How we started

 

 

I was born an artist. That's all I've ever wanted to be. I am a graphic designer by trade. I never went to culinary school, but you can tell by looking at me, I LOVE FOOD! People ask me if I am a good cook like I'd get this fat eating food that tasted bad. I am an amazing cook and baker, I wanted to open a restaurant or bakery, and I love to eat.

 

In January 2015 my food world came crumbling down. I was diagnosed with diabetes and now I had to watch everything I ate. I used to think that meant making sure I didn't bite my fingers! No more baked goods for me.

 

So I started cooking low carb meals. for me, my blood sugar is kept managable by counting carbs. So every day for lunch I started packing yummy salads. It's a good think I love vegetables, because I am allowed to eat a lot of those! My friend Jessica saw my salads on Facebook, and asked me to bring her one. She loved it and wanted me to bring her a salad every day. so Salad Slingers was born!
